CDC is jokingly called Caddis Crack by a few of our guides, it is that good! It fishes extremely well as a dry fly but the cool thing about this bug is that it can be fished subsurface as well especially when the big trout get picky and want emerger patterns riding just under the surface tension. A wise move is to plan on fishing this fly behind an Elk Hair Caddis and us the front fly for vis and the CDC to GET 'EM! Because this thing does get 'em. Its crazy.
