These are high quality bugs with foam wings and a perfect tuft of white poly to keep them buoyant and visible even in heavy current or low light. The Comparadun or Sparkle Dun, is one of the most respected and best fishing mayfly emergers in history. The deer hair wing is easy to see, floats great, and fish love it. The trailing shuck is made up of flashy yarn that mimics the nymphical shuck being shed as the adult makes it way through the surface film. In this stage the insect is rendered nearly helpless and is of little flight risk as the trout approaches the fly. Therefore, trout tend to eat Sparkle Duns very willingly during a Mayfly hatch even if they have had some pressure.

The Humpy is one of the best "attractor" flies of all time. It is often overlooked by anglers because they want the latest and greatest emeger patterns, but the advantage to the Humpy is you can cover a large portion of water quickly because of it's husky profile and buoyant charateristics. Wow! This bug fishes. The combination of elk hair, foam, and rubber legs is deadly. This fly floats well, rolls upright everytime, and hooks fish like schooner. We love this fly because it has great fishability all year long. We have used it for Skwalas, Summer Stones, Hoppers, Ants, Beetles, and who knows what else - the trout love it! Pack plenty of these and fish them up under the brush where tasty terrestrials are likely to fall in the water. The flashy wing underneath the elk-hair wing on this fly also gets lots of attention and will reflect sun-rays down through the water on clear days beckoning the trout towards the surface to eat this fly.
