48 Fly Assortment with Fly Box for Spring Skwala HatchesGuide's Choice ..... Fish the fly patterns WE fish!
These Swkala, March Brown, BWO, etc. flies have been carefully selected by our guide and shop staff to prepare you for fishing in the early spring on the Yakima River, or any other western river. The 48 flies here are proven patterns that we personally fish with and use while guiding. Buying this assortment will insure that you have "the right stuff"! Included is a "Big Cliff's Fly Box" which is our favorite all around fly box for flies of varying sizes. It has foam strips, is transparent so you can see what is inside before you open it, and has a magnetic sheet which holds even the smallest flies. The magnet also catches any flies that might come loose in transit. A nice addition to any fly box.
The package includes a big variety of Skwala dry fly patterns including 2 Chubby Chernobyl Skwalas, 2 Red's Olive Winged Thing, 4 Bitteroot Skwalas, 2 Bob's Polywing Skwala, 2 Skwala PMX's, 2 Skwalameisters, and more! In the nymph department, we have a variety of different Skwala nymphs and a well rounded assortment of our guides' favorite Pat's Stones in various colors. There is also a Matt's Double Beaded Stone, Kaufman's Skwala Stone Nymph, and more.
In addition to Skwalas, we want you prepared for the other early spring hatches as well. March Browns are one of the most revered spring hatches and this package gets you set up right. In this box you will find a #12 Prince Harry that is perfect for a March Brown nymph, various Split Wing Adams that make a perfect March Brown adult, and a Quigley March Brown Cripple to fool the big picky trout!
In the Blue Winged Olive department (BWO), we have you prepared with an Olive WD-40 to be fished just prior to hatch time, and during the hatch we recommend using the Split Wing BWO Parachute or the BWO Quigley Cripple. There are a couple of Caddis patterns including a CDC Emerger that comes in later in the spring as the Caddis hatch gains momentum.
We don't want you to be without small attractor nymphs either! Our staff chose the best all around small nymph assortment that we could think of for the early spring. It includes a Prince Harry, Anato Mayfly Nymph, Red Copper John (of course!), a Chartreuse Copper John, a Pheasant Tail CDC Bubbleback, a Gold Lightning Bug on a scud hook (natural curves!), a Purple Lightning bug, a Pearl Lightning bug, and a black WD-40 which works great at times when the water is low and clear.
There are also 2 of our favorite San Juan Power Worms in here as well. There is one Red/Pink and one Brown/Red. Use these when the water is slightly off colored for a chance at some trophy trout! There will also be some days when the hatch is stagnant and nymphs just simply won't do the trick. Tie on our favorite streamer pattern, Sculpzilla. It is a big, articulated, heavy, and seems to entice big trophy trout into biting when nothing else is working. Fish it on a floating line or use a sink tip in the big pools.
