This fly casts and fishes like a dream. It is a tube fly, so it is easy to put a fresh razor sharp hook on this fly and it is easy as simply tying a knot. It has a relatively firm hackle so it actually "pushes" some water which seems to attract steelhead. The fly itself is very durable and since you can always change out the hook, it will last a long time. One of our guides chooses this fly over every other because unlike other articulated flies, this one never tangles. It always stays straight and you never wind up fishing a run only to find out at the end that the hook was caught up in the body of the fly or on the tippet!
