This is a sweet bug. We all love the uniform profile of a Pat's Stone but this fly has jointed legs that much more accurately resemble the near 90 degree angles that Stonefly legs often have. The rubber legs also seem to have more action that a traditional "girdle bug" type Stone nymph making this a "Go To" bug for any river that has Golden Stones, Salmon Flies, Skwalas, Shortwing Stones, or any other big nasty creature with lots of legs and tails. Use these all year long for big trout that are sometimes picky.It is weighted just right for nymphing with no split shot, to depth charge... do what you must!
