Methow
River Video Methow River Photo Gallery
The Methow River boasts healthy
numbers of summer-run steelhead and is our favorite river to swing a floating
line with skaters, damp flies, or wets for steelhead.
The alluring, gin
clear water, scenic backdrop, large boulders, and aggressive population of wild
and hatchery Steelhead make this a tough river to beat. We wade and float this
river depending on water levels and strategy. Overnight accommodations in the
Methow valley are utilized for this trip, and we encourage multi-day
itineraries.
*NOTE: Steelhead seasons on the Methow are
managed on an annual basis after returning adult steelhead runs are counted on
the Columbia River. Typically, the opening occurs about October 1st. If there are plenty of fish, then the season will open on
short notice. Typically the season runs through
March. If in the event the river does not open as early as your date is booked, we can reschedule for a later date or refund your deposit if necessary.
A Washington Freshwater Fishing License with Catch Record Card
is required for this trip, and a Columbia River Steelhead Endorsement.

Lodging
There is an ample supply of fine lodging in the Methow valley. Because we often fish the lower 20 miles, we find Pateros to be the most convenient place to stay and meet guests. Here is an affordable and convenient Motel to stay at.

Testimonial
"I caught my first
steelhead on the Methow a few years ago and it was unforgettable, especially
since it was followed by second, third, and fourth on the same day! Learning to
fish steelhead on the Methow was great for me because it is a very manageable
size and thanks to the guide and water clarity, I was actually able to read the
holding lies pretty well by the end of the first day. It really sped up the
learning process for me and now I am a full blown steelhead junkie!"
