How to Choose a Fly Line

Fly Lines come in a big variety of formats. The most common are floating lines for single hand fly rods. Anglers will also use sink tip line in rivers, and full sinking lines are very common in lakes.  If you are a beginner looking to get set up or started, chances are a floating line is what you need.  Weight Forward Floating lines have become the most popular because of their ease to cast. Spey Lines and Switch Rod Lines are specific to two-handed rods.
