This is the number one Caddis Emerger pattern on the planet. The trailing Antron or Xelon shuck imitates a Caddis fly shedding it's nymphical skin and is in the process of emerging in the surface film. The big trout recognize this vulnerability and know that it won't be a flight risk if they decide to attack. The X-Caddis floats fairly well and the natural colored wing will fool even the pickiest of trout. In low-light conditions try fishing an X-Caddis behind an EHC and you will have a deadly combonation! You can also use the X-Caddis for comparable size Mayflies with good success too.
