| The original Madam X, one of the best big dry flies of all time. It makes a great Hopper, Salmon Fly, Golden Stone, October Caddis, Summer Stone, and many more tasty trout treats. It has a balanced look and fishes from any viewing angle so if it sinks, or floats on its side it still fishes great. Unlike a parachute which looks a bit funny if the post is visible to the trout. These attributes make this fly still reign as king for many experienced guides across the west. The elk hair is a buoyant relatively stiff material which keeps this fly floating great and the color is light enough for the angler to track it in low light when the big boys are on the take!
