The CDC Caddis is our FAVORITE Caddis Emerger at Red's next to the X-Caddis. The CDC floats great and is one of the fishiest materials for an emerger pattern that there is. Maybe it is the natural sheen that reflects off of the oil on CDC or maybe it traps bubbles. Either way, trout single this fly out among all others when feeding on Caddis emergers. The only reason we have these on sale is because we switched tiers and have new product coming in. Our loss your gain! Size range is 14-16, perfect for most western rivers and streams.
Make sure to buy a dozen Elk Hair Caddis to run as a front fly with this pattern. A 2 fly rig works great so that you can see the front fly, and fish the CDC on the back and track it's drift. |
