The Comparadun or Sparkle Dun, is one of the most respected and best fishing mayfly emergers in history. The deer hair wing is easy to see, floats great, and fish love it. The trailing shuck is made up of flashy yarn that mimics the nymphical shuck being shed as the adult makes it way through the surface film. In this stage the insect is rendered nearly helpless and is of little flight risk as the trout approaches the fly. Therefore, trout tend to eat Sparkle Duns very willingly during a Mayfly hatch even if they have had some pressure.
